Please Join and help them oppose Safari Highlands Ranch"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\nAnother day, another sprawl development, and another new community group arises to fight back! &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nYes, yet another rural community in Escondido is under threat<br \/>\nfrom encroaching sprawl development.&nbsp; This time, it\u2019s called Safari<br \/>\nHighlands Ranch.<span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nNeighbors have once again organized themselves against the<br \/>\nproject.&nbsp;<b> The San Pasqual Valley Preservation Alliance<\/b> is the newest community<br \/>\norganization in town.&nbsp; Please check them out and sign up to stay informed. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stopshr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">STOP SHR Website<\/a> <o:p><\/o:p><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nThe second Scoping meeting was held last night and it was<br \/>\nwell-attended.&nbsp; Once again, dozens of concerned residents came to learn<br \/>\nabout the process of permitting a project that is outside the sphere of<br \/>\ninfluence of the city and exceeds the County General Plan densities by an<br \/>\ninsane amount.&nbsp; Another case of the city parachuting a high-density<br \/>\ndevelopment into a rural area.<o:p><\/o:p><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nThis project is another example of a non-transit<br \/>\noriented, non-sustainable, and habitat destroying project. &nbsp;Its leap-frog pattern of development will threaten additional sensitive areas now and in the future.<o:p><\/o:p><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nWhat was clear to us Monday night was that the City intends to<br \/>\nfast track this project so that it is voted on by our current pro-development<br \/>\nCity Council before elections take place in November 2016.&nbsp; <o:p><\/o:p><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nWe have lessons learned from our recent defeat regarding Oak<br \/>\nCreek and we look forward to sharing, neighborhood to neighborhood, with our<br \/>\nnew allies at the <b>San Pasqual Valley Preservation Alliance.<\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>\nPlease sign up and keep informed.
